Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” keynote is right around the corner, and as usual the rumour mill has been working overtime on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. While nothing is official until Apple says so, the leaks this year point to some of the biggest design changes we’ve seen since the iPhone 14 Pro.
A slightly thicker body, for a good reason
Reports suggest the Pro Max will grow from roughly 8.75mm to about 9mm thick. That’s a small jump, but it’s reportedly there to make room for a larger battery across both the eSIM and physical-SIM versions sold in different markets.
A smaller Dynamic Island
The Dynamic Island cutout is expected to shrink by close to 35%, freeing up more usable screen space on the 6.9-inch display without changing how the feature works.
One piece of glass, one look
Leaks point to Apple working with Corning on a redesigned back that blends the rear glass and the surrounding metal frame into a single, frosted Ceramic Shield finish — a more unified look than previous generations.
A press-only Camera Control
The swipe gesture on last year’s Camera Control button is rumoured to be gone. In its place: a single pressure-sensitive button that distinguishes between a light press and a firm press, aimed at cutting down accidental taps.
A bigger camera bump
To fit an upgraded triple-lens system — including a variable aperture lens, more on that in our camera article — the rear camera housing is expected to protrude further than on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
New colours in, two colours out
Rumoured colours for this generation include Dark Cherry, a Light/Sky Blue, Dark Gray, and Silver. Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue are said to be retired.
As always, treat all of this as informed speculation until Apple’s keynote. We’ll update this post the moment anything is confirmed — and if you’re planning to pick one up in Bangladesh, keep an eye on our Phones category once pre-orders open.
